Pets at Home, Kidderminster
Sunday 17th December helping to make a difference.
Great to see how busy it was in Pets at Homes today, hopefully that will be more Christmas dinners for animals in rescue.
Thank you for sharing your time with us and especially for your support.
Thank you also to Stephen for joining us (one of our incredible volunteers) and for bringing along gorgeous boy Flynn.
As well as getting time out from the kennels, Flynn was also on a mission to find his special forever family and while doing so, he stole the hearts of so many.
Who could say no to this gentle adorable soul. Good luck Flynn, we truly hope your dream will become reality very soon. Thanks again Stephen We were at Pets at Home today to assist Support Adoption for Pets who are holding their annual Santa Paws Appeal in the Pets at Home stores and hoping this will be their best year yet.If you can get to your local Pets at Home anytime up to the 24th December, it’s a great chance to buy a Christmas dinner for those in rescue.
We would love to see all Pets enjoying Christmas with their forever families but in reality, that isn’t going to happen.
If you can, please help us to help Support Adoption for Pets have their best year ever to make Christmas special for so many in rescue, they won’t be forgotten and certainly deserve a special day too.
Support Adoption for Pets do amazing work raising funds for their chosen charities which in turn is so rewarding to improve the lives of those with no voice.
Thank you for any help you can offer
Merry Christmas everyone!

Sunday 8th October - Sponsored Walk!
Thank you to everyone for your support and donations :)
What an incredible turn out for this event!!
Enjoyed by so many we've been asked to do the same again next year, absolutely great!
Sunday 8th October - Sponsored Walk!
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible, no need for sponsor forms if you haven't managed to collect one , you can still join us for a minimum £5 donation.:)
The Shuttle states its a 4.5 km walk, the correct length is approx 4.5 miles, this does include the Marsh which may not be accessible (depends on Sally's verdict after she walks it beforehand), if not it will reduce the walk by approx 20 mins and maybe 3/4 of a mile. :)
Raising funds needed for 3 rescue dogs requiring major surgery Forest Dog Rescue take in dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes and many who have not had the best start in life. But every single one matters and they all deserve a second chance. The charity is totally reliant on donations and whilst regular fundraising and sponsorship helps to cover the typical monthly costs, sometimes there are special cases that just need more. With average vet bills alone tipping £3,000 every month, when dogs come in with severe injuries or health issues the charity must find other ways to fund raise the extra money. We currently have 3 dogs in kennels who all need major surgery to enable them to have their second chance at finding a loving forever home and living the life they deserve. Ari, a 5-year-old crossbreed has come to Forest Dog Rescue and needs at least one, possibly two, cruciate ligaments operated on to enable him to walk comfortably.Patch, a 3-year-old crossbreed came into rescue with a permanently dislocated knee cap and a bowed femur which is likely the result of a previous fracture. He needs surgery to repair the damage to his knee and leg so he can get his mobility back and live the rest of his life pain free.Pete, a 3-year-old lurcher has been in kennels for 5 months and started showing signs of lameness so has been under investigation at the local vet. He has already had an x-ray and a scan but now needs to be referred to a specialist for an MRI scan to ascertain the route of his problem.
We need to raise £4,000 to enable these dogs to have the treatment they so desperately need so we are organising a special Sponsored Walk on Sunday 8 October. The 4.5mile walk starts at the Lock Inn & Old Smithy Tearooms in Wolverley at 10.30am and everyone, including dogs, are welcome. Anyone who wants to take part and help us raise these much-needed funds can get sponsorship forms from our kennels in Far Forest, or either of our charity shops in Kidderminster or Ludlow. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from our website (www.forest-dog-rescue.org.uk). We also welcome non-sponsored walkers and just ask for a minimum donation of £5. This is such a huge sum so we are really calling out to all dog lovers in the area to step out to help us give these dogs their second chance”,
